Yo. It’s been a long time. There have been plenty of pictures but not a lot of time. Plus, the internet connection here in Laos is slow and sketchy. Anyway, here are a few pictures I took today of Eli. The background looks white, but it’s actually the yellow west-facing wall of our house.

Beautiful Bangkok Family

November 14, 2010

When Orawin and Karsten invited me to their home in Bangkok, I didn’t know what to expect. But it was clear after a few moments what a loving, beautiful family they are. He is from Denmark and his parents were in Bangkok visiting, so I had the chance to photograph some extended family. Their little girl was so sweet and fast! She had just learned to walk the day before and I could barely keep up with her. Here are a couple of my favorite shots.

Proponents of Attachment Parenting would be pretty happy in Laos. I saw a lot of babies and they were always riding on their moms, dads or older siblings in a sling/wrap.

Evening in Udon Thani

David is in Laos and I am by myself. But tomorrow he is coming back home and we are happy.

Rainy Day

September 10, 2010

It was too wet to go outside and we were all getting kind of bored. So I set up a little backdrop using some great fabric I got in Bangkok (it’s called “Super Black” and it is the blackest, heaviest polyester weave I’ve ever seen). The light is coming from the backdoor (so it was like one big direct softbox).

During a Thai language class I mentioned that I wanted to learn how to cook Thai food better, so one of my teachers invited me to her house to learn to cook a few things. While I was there I took some pictures of their sweet nine-month old daughter, King.

Baby H: 6 days old

August 22, 2010

After moving to Thailand I wondered how many shoots I’d get to do. Luckily, our friends, เก้า and Rikker came through for me. Their little guy was born just last week.

I got to do a shoot tonight with a family friend I’ve known since we moved to Oregon when I was five (24 years ago!) It had been many years since we’d seen each other and it was so fun to meet her boys and husband. Here are a couple photographs from the shoot.

Miss Madeline

June 21, 2010

This is one of my sweet nieces who came to visit for a week last month.

After I took a few shots of her, she asked if she could take some pictures of me, so I gave her the camera and then my oldest came running over. I love that she got this shot because I’m almost certain an adult never could have coaxed that kind of smile out of Ezra.
