There is something so special about birth. There seems to be a lot of fascination about how we go out of this world, but how we come in has always interested me more.

Baby G was so pink and healthy and started wailing about 5 seconds after arriving.

If you are pregnant and interested in having me document your delivery, please contact me as soon as possible.

April 15, 2010This little girl is the chubbiest newborn I’ve ever seen. She was a dream the whole time and made the session so easy. Also, isn’t her mama beautiful?
The best window for newborn pictures is from 5-8 days after birth, so if you are expecting and would like pictures of your newborn, please contact me at jade[at]jadenoel.com to schedule a session.

April 12, 2010Little K
April 8, 2010We had originally planned to start the photo shoot at the Utah State Hospital orchards but they had a huge sign up advising people of the need to obtain proper permission (pay $20) in order to use them. I understand the need but still, I was bummed. So we went downtown to a few different places and I think we came away with some great shots.
Little K’s cheeks are so kissable, don’t you agree?

April 5, 2010My sister is visiting so I’ve had a few chances to take some pictures of my beautiful nephew.

More to come…
Ezra
March 28, 2010I feel like in terms of photography, I’ve been neglecting my oldest. You would think that my youngest, at 22 months old would be harder to catch. But Ezra is the one I haven’t been able to get a real picture of lately (like the last 12 months) because he is embarrassed by the camera. This morning I finally got a few authentic shots. How did I get him to smile? I talked to him about poop.
[Technical Details] The light was incredible. The sun had just risen over the mountains and was pouring through the living room windows onto the floor, reflecting back up into his face. In some of the shots, this effect was really pronounced and unfortunately took on a “ghost stories around the campfire” look. I shot at 50mm f/2.8 and converted them to black and white in photoshop with a caramel overlay at 7% opacity.
M Family Sneak Peak
March 25, 2010I had a great time with the M family. Their little girl was darling and put on a brave face in spite of the cold. Here is a little taste from the session.

Kitchen Light
March 23, 2010There is a spot in my kitchen that has beautiful light almost any time of day. It is also the spot where my youngest sits for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I therefore have nearly a hundred (I can’t help myself!) shots of him that are similar to these.

B Family and Maternity Shoot
March 22, 2010I met Cynthia through an email I sent out, looking for people who would be interested in birth photography. She is due in just a few weeks (and I am really excited to do a birth photography session with her), but she wanted to get some maternity pictures as well before it’s too late.
They are from Brazil and her mom came just a few days ago to help with the new baby. I wish I had been able to get more pictures of her mom. She was busy caring for their little guy (who was having a hard time and so was also absent from most of the pictures). They are such a sweet family. Check it out:
